Group Giving

Throughout Scripture, we see generosity expressed in powerful ways. Perhaps the best example we can follow is the life of Jesus. As he modeled, our lives are not our own. We are called to be ambassadors of God, and stewards of what he has so graciously entrusted us with. This includes our time, talent, and yes…money. All that we have! This means that all we “have” is actually His. God has just entrusted us with these to see His name glorified. Does this mean we immediately go and give everything away? Not necessarily- but what it does mean is that all we have does not belong to us. It belongs to Jesus.

So what does this type of generosity look like for us as Biglifers? With the example modeled for us in the Bible, we encourage every individual, family, and group to pray about living into transformative generosity in the 3 primary areas listed below. At some point in your group meeting, take some time to discuss and pray into these 3 areas. This is often easiest to do after a group has done the initial check-up together.

Look at and pray about helping within the Biglife network globally.

Everybody takes some time to pray into the things discussed. Where appropriate share what the Lord has laid on your heart about helping. Each group will be responsible for how money is received and distributed. Keep this simple! This means you may not receive a giving receipt, but neither did the early church.
